About BreathScienceLab.com

Meet Dan Jurzynek – Founder of BreathScienceLab
Hi, I’m Dan—husband, father of two, and the heart behind BreathScienceLab.com.
Like many of you, I’ve wrestled with stress, drained energy, and the grind of keeping up—feeling like the “right” habits weren’t enough. Life’s demands—work, family, endless to-dos—had me stretched thin. Then my twin brother introduced me to the Wim Hof Method. That one breath practice changed everything, becoming my daily anchor. For over seven years, I’ve practiced it, not out of discipline, but because it unlocks something vital.
That spark ignited a passion for biohacking—not just for performance, but to unlock the body’s hidden powers and thrive for my kids. Becoming a dad at 38 fueled my obsession with longevity, so I can be there for them as long as possible. I’m no doctor or certified coach, just a relentless explorer who’s felt the shift breathwork brings.
🧠 Why BreathScienceLab Exists
BreathScienceLab is my space to share science-backed discoveries about breathing, recovery, and the body’s untapped potential—minus the hype or jargon. To me, the breath is our constant companion, always there to ground us wherever life takes us. That’s why I’m passionate about building awareness of its power. Here’s how I do it:
- Dig into research on HRV, parasympathetic activation, and breathing mechanics
- Experiment in my busy dad life—between school runs, swimming lessons, and soccer practice
- Craft clear, practical tools you can use, even with a packed schedule
This site is for skeptics, high-performers, and curious minds who want biohacks that deliver real results and respect your time.
🌱 My Morning Ritual & Deeper Why
Weekdays start at 5:25 a.m. with a cold shower—every day, no exceptions—to wake my system. Then I dive into breathwork, practicing the Wim Hof Method at least five days a week to ground me, sometimes layering in Breath of Fire for energy and clarity. It’s biohacking with purpose: to harness my body’s potential for longevity and show up fully present.
Before I head downstairs, I crack my six-year-old daughter’s door, quietly hoping she’ll hear my breathwork and join me. When she pads down for a sleepy hug, it hits home: I’m doing this to live longer and stronger for my family. I want breathwork to feel natural for my kids—essential, not out of reach. That’s the pulse of BreathScienceLab—living true to myself and sharing what lasts.
